Inventory Management
Imagine running several pallets with mixed product containers through a stationary label reader that instantly collects data from multiple items accurately and relays that information to your computer. All items are identified, although out of line of vision, and nothing has to be individually scanned by hand. Even better, the information can be verified with the EPC network.

The ongoing process of establishing RFID technology standards for the perishable foods industry is taking place through the efforts of EPCglobal, the EAN International, and the Uniform Code Council (UCC). We understand that EPC standards are still being developed; therefore, we are careful to structure our RFID systems so that we can adapt to changes and maintain compliancy for our clients.
There are a number of industries that have used RFID technology for some time to operate parts of their businesses, but it is fairly new to the food industry. Franwell is concerned with the unique challenge data collection by means of radio frequency presents to the perishable foods industry; therefore, we are collaborating closely with the University of Florida IFAS Center for Food Distribution and Retailing (CFDR) in the area of scientific testing involving RFID.
Franwell wants to bring the best of EPC compliant technology to the food industry. Therefore, we have collaborated with supply chain leaders who have developed numerous successful systems to utilize the new industry standards for product identification. These partnerships enable Franwell to integrate our software with RFID hardware for the purpose of enhancing Agware's potential for the fresh food industry.
Agware already does a superior job tracking inventory from grower or vendor source through sales to its destination and final financial settlement. Utilizing RFID technology will further increase efficiency, accuracy, and safety of perishable food products, thus enabling Agware users to benefit financially from reduced waste and loss of inventory. Franwell integrated Agware with RFID technology in 2003. In 2004 Franwell introduced rfid> Genesis as a product we will integrate with your warehouse management system.
